BOOK STACIE FOR YOUR NEXT EVENT
Consulting, Collaborating & Speaking

What I do
We survivors are culpable for defining what recovery looks like. No one else.
The onus falls completely on us, as the survivors, to get up the spunk and the strength, to fight for our recoveries each day.
It was incredible to hear Stacie speaking so confidently, fluently and movingly.
What people are saying:

Using her stroke as an impetus, Stacie changes lives.
Leveraging her years in marketing, teaching others how to thrive in her on-line course and sharing her account of her first year of stroke recovery in her memoir, Stacie knows how to connect with an audience. Her #1 goal is to give the audience a nugget of gold to mull over.

Here’s why I can help
My Story
I survived a stroke on 20 February 2019. I was young. I was a wife to a gregarious Dutch guy, a mother to three young children, a writer, and an aspiring artist. But I was also, unfortunately, oblivious. Oblivious to the signs of stroke. To the agony that it wreaks on its survivors and their carers. And to its possibilities.
I firmly believe that each day we wake with a choice. Whatever circumstances surround that choice, you still get to decide: How do you want to live today?
And that's when I learned that what I do is actually unique and special.
About
When I met a Dutch guy…. that crazy Dutch guy not only became my husband, but also changed the entire course of my life. I won’t spoil the story, or tell you what happened next. But suffice to say that up to today, I have lived in four different countries on three different continents. I have travelled to over 30 different countries and there are many, many more on my list.
I am an American career-girl who was going for it in New York…
Hi there, I'm Stacie, a speaker, public advocate and mother.
I live for tacos, the laying on the beach, and laughing 'til I snort.
I Became A Mother.
Of course, our (mis)adventure has been laced with our share of stress. We’ve suffered thru the losses of loved ones. We’ve suffered personal losses. And in February 2019, I survived a stroke. So, here I am, raising our third culture children and dealing with the aftermath of my stroke. I like to say that the things that don’t break us, give us good stories!
And An Advocate
I suffered a multitude of set-backs from my stroke. from non-fluent aphasia, agraphia, emotional regulation disorder, impaired cognitive functions, sensory integration disorder to right-sided hemiparesis.
I am a shameless self-advocate. I talk about my stroke. I support others in their fight to get better. And I disagree vociferously with anyone who puts a label on recovery.
Recovery is personal. Recovery should detail explicitly your wants, needs and wishes.
Recovery doesn’t just mean that you are alive. Unless it does.
